well i just got Dozin at the knick and Truckin up to Buffalo. these are two great shows. they seem to have a real resurgence in the quality of playing in these two recordings. this 1989-90 (give or take) period is somewhat new to me but i like what ive heard. anyone got any suggestions

I'm more of an early 70s guy but to my ears, '89-90 was sort of a last hurrah. It took them a while to build up some steam after Jerry's coma (note the conspicuous absence of big jams in '87 and the holding pattern style of '88). IMO the vast majority of the top shows during the band's last decade are to be found during these two years.

The MSG run of 1990 is truly a monster; one night is available as one of the Dick's Picks but all circulate and are essential listening for anyone.

Plus the surrounding nights.

Definitely 8-19-89 for the second set. VERY intense jam out of the Other One.

I think your referring to 10-20-89 and this indeed had the most intense jamming Other One that I ever saw. At least that's what I recall but I've yet to listen to it again so I guess I could be wrong. Cheers

No I am referring to 8-19-1989 at the Greek Theatre. The 10-20 show in Philadelphia does have an intense Other One Jam, but the Greek show was over the top.
